Improve performance in QuickBooks by managing your .tlg file size

Hosted QuickBooks Tip of the Week: Improve performance in QuickBooks by managing your .tlg file size

Do you have multiple users in your file frequently?  Have you been experiencing performance problems?  Over time, if you do not manually backup your QuickBooks file your .TLG file (the log file associated with your QuickBooks file) can grow very large, causing performance issues in QuickBooks.

One trick to help with performance is to make a backup of your QuickBooks company file.  You do not need to restore the backup.  Creating the backup of the company file clears the transaction log file and moves any data to the company file and the backup.  This will not change the size of the company file.

Please tune in to next week’s QuickBooks tip.
