Swizznet takes its security to the next level of customer convenience with Windows Azure Multi-Factor Authentication safeguards
Swizznet, the premier QuickBooks® hosting and online accounting solution provider, today announced that its platform now gives customers the option of multi-factor authentication by adding support for Windows Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (powered by PhoneFactor). This enterprise-level authentication service uses a customer’s mobile device as the trusted source for secondary user verification. It’s especially useful for CPAs and accountants on the go that need convenient, tighter security to reduce organizational risk, to meet regulatory compliance or for enhanced protection from malware threats.
Already offering one of the strongest security systems for cloud-based data, Swizznet added mobile multi-factor authentication capabilities in response to customer requests. With this added service, customers can access data and applications using their existing usernames and passwords; after verification, the system pushes a notification via text or a phone call to the customer’s smartphone or tablet. Then, the customer simply confirms by voice or text that he or she wants access.
“This new security feature is convenient for anyone wanting more direct control of their access to data in the cloud, even when traveling,” said Kristin Callan, COO, Swizznet. “It’s rock solid, and offers the ability to notify users or their IT departments whenever account credentials might be compromised. It’s just another step in our process of making Swizznet the industry’s most responsive, reliable and secure cloud platform for QuickBooks.”
Swizznet offers many other top security features, including:
– offsite file archiving, daily
– continuous 30 minute backups
– Citrix XenApp 256-bit encryption
– redundant firewalls
– monthly port scanning, certified by Coalfire
